Project Manager

Our client is a rapidly growing boutique consultancy specialising in project and bid management within the transport and facilities management sectors. Their energetic team delivers high-quality, bespoke project management, bid support, market entry, and advisory service to leading transport and facilities management providers, with a strong focus on the UK and Middle East markets.

They are seeking an ambitious, motivated, and passionate Project Manager to work on high-profile international projects. While the role is primarily UK-based and remote, there will be opportunities to travel to the Dubai office or client sites both in the UK and abroad. This position offers extensive training, professional development, and a clear path for career progression into senior project management and key client account management roles. As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the company, managing transport mobilisation and demobilisation projects for both private and public sector clients. Working alongside internal teams or directly with client project teams, you will support clients in winning contracts, establishing new operations, and managing seamless contract exits. This includes promoting the company’s services, retaining existing clients, and developing end-to-end project management solutions and processes.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale transport projects, ensuring smooth coordination, compliance, and optimal resource allocation.

Project Planning and Execution:

Develop comprehensive mobilisation and demobilisation plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessment, and contingency strategies.

Coordinate transportation, logistics, and asset deployment for on-site and off-site operations.

Stakeholder Management:

Engage with internal teams, clients, contractors, and third-party service providers to align project goals and expectations.

Facilitate clear communication channels to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain accurate documentation, including risk assessments, permits, and progress reports.

Budget Management:

Oversee project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or timelines.

Prepare financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones effectively.

Provide guidance, training, and motivation to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Problem-Solving:

Anticipate potential challenges related to transport logistics and implement solutions proactively.

Manage disruptions, delays, or other issues with a focus on maintaining operational continuity.

Business Support

Key Client account management

Support the wider business in meeting its growth targets

Support with general business management

Support with the development of the business bidding processes and proposals to Clients.

Knowledge and Skills

Project management best practices

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of transport regulations, compliance, and logistics.

Knowledge of budgeting and financial management

Ability to write in professional English and distill large volumes of data and information into concise reports

Strong administration and time management skills

Graduate calibre, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in research and writing field

Relationship building – the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across all stakeholders, whether at local or more senior level

Communicates effectively – able to articulate ideas in a clear and persuasive manner

Initiative – the ability to think and act proactively

Ability to multi-task – juggle the demands of complex projects and proactively manages communication across the team.

Desire to broaden skill sets and ability to understand different solutions across various markets.

Highly organised – is quick and efficient, delivers to agreed timescales with an eye for detail.

Excellent MS Office skills – proficient in word processing and compiling documents into standard formats.

Salary: To £75,000 + benefits
